FEED A SOUL is a non-profit private project that was started on the 19th of April, 2022. It was started with an aim of sharing Christ and the Good News of Jesus Christ to as many families as we could in Jinja. The vision was birthed a couple of years ago when I worked with Watoto Childcare Ministries as a zonal leader taking Christ to as many kids as I could. I enjoyed doing this, I did it for a couple of years before I had to leave and continue with my studies outside Uganda. During my time of service in the communities, I realized that many kids knew who God was but many of their families had lost hope because of the so many challenges they encountered including lack of ability to provide a basic meal for their children. This broke my heart so many times but it also birthed the Feed a soul project years later. Today as we speak, with the help of our very first sponsor Jordan Jaque Cancino, his beautiful wife Pricilla and their lovely daughter Domi we were able to provide food and other basic items to our very first family in Kimaka village. The first family we choose to start with has 6 kids all under 12 years of age, living in a very small house with their parents. In addition to that, we also provided 10kgs of rice to about 12 other families. We also were able to pray with our main family where the Dad genuinely asked us to pray for him because he had lost passion for God but because of our visit he said he saw God had indeed resurrected in his life and family. In FEED A SOUL project, we feed more than just the physical man, we also feed the spiritual man through sharing scriptures and praying with the families we serve. We give our communities the best food the world can ever give them, we give them The Bread of Life, JESUS! (John 6:32-37). We believe that you can’t feed only the spiritual man without feeding the physical and vice versa. JESUS our role model understood this when all over in the scriptures He didn’t only preach but also provided the physical needs of his audience like in Matthew 14:13-21.
